A Laredo native, Harry (Hank) E. Sames, III is the President of Sames Auto Group. Founded in 1910 by his great-grandfather, William J. Sames, and partner, James Moore, Mr. Sames represents the fourth generation of his family to own and manage this successful automobile business. The company consists of dealerships with six locations in Laredo, Texas.
Sames Motor Company is Texas’ Oldest Dealership selling Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, and Honda
products. Mr. Sames is proudest of his most recent business venture, as CEO of Sames Crow Ford in Corpus Christi, which sells the Ford brand in addition to used cars.
A true community leader, Mr. Sames serves on the board of The Laredo National Bank, Ford Salute to Education Scholarship Program and the Greater Laredo Community Foundation. He has also served as President of the Laredo Country Club and was a Director of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. As a testament to his dedication to education, he and his wife founded the Hank and Elizabeth Sames Scholars Program, which makes college education available to deserving students in the community.
Mr. Sames’ accolades also include being named the Laredo Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 1999. Most recently the State of Israel awarded him with the Texas Freedom Award in 2004. Currently, Mr. Sames has been named Mr. South Texas for 2006. A graduate of Nixon High School, in Laredo, Texas, Mr. Sames holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Sames is married to Elizabeth Romano Sames.
