HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Our story begins in 1890, when a young and determined W.J. Sames arrived in Laredo with an entrepreneurial spark and a vision for opportunity. He started as a commission sales agent, learning the pace of the growing city before partnering with J.R. Moore to form the Sames & Moore Company. As the world entered a new age of transportation, W.J. recognized the immense potential of the emerging automobile industry. In 1910, they took a bold leap by introducing Ford cars to their business, bringing the very first automobiles to Laredo.

In 1910, W.J. Sames and his partner, Moore, founded Laredo Auto Sales, planting the seeds of what would become a transformative industry in the region. That same year, they sold Laredo’s very first Model T—an event that not only marked the beginning of automotive sales in the area but also ushered in a new era of mobility and modern transportation for the community.
